Malls in Madrid you need to Visit
La Gavia
We will start talking about malls in Madrid with La Gavia, one of the largest in town. It is a great alternative to go shopping in this city, especially in summer as it is an indoor mall. One of the main stores that La Gavia has is IKEA. This shop is famous all over the world for its cheap furniture of modern design, and this is also the only full store they have in Madrid (although there is another on the peripheries). But that’s not all since there are more than 150 shops and restaurants in this big shopping center. Among the most outstanding shops are Zara, H&M, Levi’s, Springfield and Cortefiel.

Parquesur
It is a little far from downtown, but there is no doubt that Parquesur is one of the best malls in Madrid. This is the largest mall in the area and has more than 100 shops, restaurants and places to have fun. It is located in Leganés, one of the suburbs of Madrid. It only has one floor, but it is quite large. If you go from one end to the other you will be able to see all kinds of shops such as clothing brands (Hollister, Bershka, Massimo Dutti, C&A), electronics (Apple Store, Xiaomi & MediaMarkt), jewelry stores, toy stores (Juguettos & Lego Store) and more.

You will have no problem finding a place to eat as there are several restaurants in Parquesur. There are all kinds of meals either Spanish, Italian, Japanese or American. In addition to shopping or having dinner, you can go to see a movie or also play bowling. One of the attractions of Parquesur is its artificial lake where light and water shows are held.

Plenilunio
A good option for some shopping before leaving for the airport, or if you’re simply in the area, is Plenilunio. The mall opened in 2006 and has since been a favorite in the east of Madrid. Now we will know more about one the oldest malls in Madrid: La Vaguada. This mall stills draws big crowds despite having been open for over 40 years and several other similar places have been built in the city. Plaza Rio 2
Plaza Rio 2 is one of the most complete malls in Madrid, since although it is not very big there are enough things to do. When you enter this nice shopping center with a modern design you will see good shops such as El Ganso, Massimo Dutti, Zara (there is also its home-decor store) or the famous Spanish jewelry store, Tous.

Another of its most important stores is FNAC, where you can buy electronics, books, pop culture merchandise and films. You should go to their restaurant section as there is a pretty good variety of places. You can choose between eating a burger at Five Guys or Hamburguesa Nostra, Italian food at La Tagliatella or Spanish tapas at Casa Carmen. As a fun fact, you should know that there is no Plaza Rio 1, but the owners use this number to put their brand in the name of their malls.

Centro Comercial Principe Pío
It is not the largest or the one with the most shops, but Centro Comercial Principe Pio is one of the malls in Madrid with the best location. It is in the train station of the same name near important landmarks of the city such as the Royal Palace. There’s a little bit of everything in the shopping center so you won’t get bored. We highlight its various clothing stores such as United Colors of Benetton, H&M, Mango and Sfera. Las Rozas Village
The best place to get deals in Madrid is Las Rozas Village. They are not so far away and in less than half an hour you can get here. Some of the best that these outlets in Madrid have, is that you can buy clothes and accessories from various high-end brands with good discounts. Their retail directory is wonderful as there are fashion brands of all kinds. These include luxury brands such as Chloé, Armani, Jimmy Choo, Gucci or the English brand Burberry. In addition the mall has a nice and luxurious outdoor design.

You can also find good discounts on several slightly cheaper European brands including Sandro, Pinko, Purificación García, Le Coq Sportif and Scalpers. If you want a bag or accessories of good quality and on offer you must go to Longchamp or Bimba and Lola, in addition to knowing Ecoalf, a Spanish clothing brand made with recycled materials. There are few but good restaurants in the outlet so you can take a break on your shopping day.

There are other outlets in Madrid, The Style Outlets in San Sebastian de los Reyes being one of the most visited. These are located in the northeast area of the city and you don’t have to travel much to get there because in less than 25 minutes you can get there from Puerta del Sol. There are not as many stores as in Las Rozas but it is an excellent option if you are looking to buy clothes from Spanish brands with discounts. Some of the ones you can find here are Massimo Dutti, Hispanitas, Mango, Valecuatro, Roberto Verino or Desigual. There is also an excellent selection of international brands.

Other Places to Go Shopping in Madrid
Gran Vía: In addition to going to malls in Madrid, you have to visit this avenue to find excellent shops. It is the most important avenue in the city and is full of restaurants, theaters, cinemas and more than anything else: shops. Serrano Street: If you want to go shopping at big luxury brands, you have to go to this site. In this street, and others very close, are several of the best designer name brands in the world. Here are the shops of Balenciaga, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Kenzo or Prada, among others, as well as jewelers and premium brands. You should also go to El Corte Inglés. It is a department store more recognized in Europe and in addition to selling clothes and accessories of high-end brands, on its last floor there is an area with small but good restaurants.
Lavapies: This colourful and fun neighborhood brings together in one place all the different cultures that Madrid has. It’s a great place to go shopping in the city as there are shops you won’t find anywhere else. Here there are no famous fashion brands, but local clothing stores, shoes, accessories and more of good quality and with excellent designs. You can also stay for lunch or have a drink in one of the many restaurants and bars in the area.
