Mall St. Matthews

Although other malls eventually opened in Louisville, Mall St. Matthews was the first of all big shopping centers to open in the area. Even for many years it was known as The Mall, being since its opening in 1962 a reference in the fashion world in Kentucky. Although it has a lot of competition from other malls nearby, this place still has top-notch stores. It has more than 100 stores (twice as many as Oxmoor) including both national chains and local stores. These are headlined by JCPenney and Dillard’s (shop that is divided into two buildings: one for women’s clothing and the other with the menswear department).
