There are also plenty of places to go shopping in this Tennessee city, as there are quite a few. We will tell you which are the best malls in Memphis where you can find your favorite fashion brands, department stores and more.

Wolfchase Galleria

What better than to start talking about the best malls in Memphis with the largest in the city: Wolfchase Galleria. It has been open since 1997 with more than 100 stores including three department stores (Macy’s, JCPenney and Dillard’s). Other shopping options at the mall include clothing stores like True Religion, American Eagle, H&M, Forever 21 and Journeys. If you are looking for children’s clothing you can go to The Children’s Place and if you want shoes there are also different options such as Aldo, Foot Locker and Rack Room Shoes.

There is also the Hot Topic and Box Lunch store, where you can fin clothing and collectible items from movies, TV series or music bands. In addition to a food court, there are renowned restaurants such as the Cheesecake Factory or J.Alexander.

The Shops of Saddle Creek

Winning the best mall in Memphis award (by the Memphis Flyer newspaper) for several years in a row is not easy, but thanks to its good selection of stores and wonderful design, Saddle Creek has achieved it. It was one of the first lifestyle centers to be built in the country (it opened in 1987) and is without a doubt one of the most beautiful in the United States. It is located in Germantown, east of Memphis, and is surrounded by other small shopping centers, supermarkets and the Methodist hospital.

There are not many stores in the mall, but there are several excellent fashion brands. You’ll find stores like Michael Kors, Anthropologie, White House Black Market, Brooks Brothers and J.Crew. There are also the stores of three of the most famous athleisure brands: Lululemon, Fabletics and Athleta as well as Untuckit (a good menswear store), Sephora and the Apple Store. If you want to stay to eat in Saddle Creek you can do it at the Stoney River steakhouse or you can also savor the delicious biscuits and donuts at Rise.

Laurelwood Shopping Center

Very close to Oak Court Mall, there is a smaller shopping center but with several clothing and accessories stores that are worth visiting. It’s called the Laurelwood Shopping Center and although there are only a few dozen stores, they are of good quality majing this one of the best small malls in Memphis. In the case of clothing brands, we highlight J.McLaughlin, Orvis, Chico’s and Talbots. Without a doubt, some of the best things this mall has to offer are its local stores like Joseph’s, a luxury multi-brand store that sells designer clothes and shoes. You should also visit Kitty Kyle, Bear’s Den and the excellent men’s clothing store: James Davis. There are also home decor stores, a gym or children’s clothing stores.

Oak Court Mall

Oak Court Mall in one of the oldest malls in Memphis. Its origins date back to 1961 when a local department store opened there. Little by little it expanded until it ended up being the mall it is today. The last few years have not been the best for Oak Court Mall as several stores have closed. There are still good options for shopping including Macy’s (this is the company’s largest store in the state and also includes its outlet section: Macy’s Backstage), Foot Locker, The Children’s Place and Aeropostale. There are also several local shops and a food court.

Southaven Towne Center

Among all the strip malls in Memphis, Southaven Towne Center is the largest of them all. This is thanks to its two department stores: Dillard’s and JCPenney. But they are not the only good stores in this place as there are several clothing brands and shoe stores (such as Rack Room Shoes and Finish Line). There is also a Bed Bath & Beyond, Ulta Beauty, the wedding dress store David’s Bridal and the fabrics store, Joann.

On the other hand, there is no shortage of dining options in this place as there are good restaurants in this place such as One & Only BBQ and the excellent Japanese restaurant, Naru. And as an added bonus, there is a great place for children to have fun. It’s called Urban Air, it’s a trampoline park that also has other activities like climbing walls and virtual reality experiences.

Carriage Crossing

Carriage Crossing is one of the best designed malls in Memphis, being ideal to spend a fun shopping day. It is an open-air shopping center and in addition to having good shops and restaurants, in its public spaces you can attend one of the many activities that take place throughout the year. Although this mall suffered a blow with the closing of Macy’s, there were still very good open stores like Dillard’s.

There are also several big name fashion brands including H&M, Forever 21, Chicos and Cacique as well as some interesting stores like Barnes & Noble, Bed Bath & Beyond and the make-up store, Sephora. The restaurants in Carriage Crossing are quite varied and there is something for everyone whether you want American, Japanese, Italian or Mexican food.

There is only one outlet in Memphis, but you find the best fashion brands. Tanger Outlets Southaven is south of the city and has more than 60 stores offering great discounts on clothing and accessories. It is well worth going to this place since you will find the outlet stores of brands such as Tory Burch, Vineyard Vines, Tommy Hilfiger, Polo Ralph Lauren and Lucky Brand. But that’s not all, as there are also J.Crew, Kate Spade, Coach or Abercrombie & Fitch as well as sports brands such as Nike, Under Armour and Puma. Dining options at the outlet are somewhat limited, but several restaurants such as Red Pier and fast-food chains are within a short drive.

Other Places to Go Shopping in Memphis

Cordova: In this area, east of Memphis, there is not a shopping center as such, but there are several important stores close to each other. The most popular is the Swedish furniture store IKEA. It is famous for its furniture and home decor at good prices. And taking advantage of the presence of this store, there are several other furniture stores close by such as Ethan Allen or Ashley. You can also go to the department store Kohl’s, the makeup store Ulta Beauty or Ross.


Centennial Commons: Several stores have recently closed in this big strip mall, but there are several left that might interest you. The main one is the JCPenney department store, but there are also discount stores like Marshalls and Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, as well as Dick’s Sporting Goods, Boot Barn and local stores. In its surroundings you can find several restaurants (including The Juicy Crab and Red Lobster) and other stores such as Kroger and Costco.


Cooper-Young: This is one of the coolest neighborhoods in the city as it includes very good restaurants and bars, art galleries and also several shops.
